Police from Macomb and St. Clair counties seized drugs, cash, and associated paraphernalia Friday night during a raid at a Detroit residence.
According to a news release, the County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET) executed a search warrant in the Detroit. Detectives confiscated several ounces of fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, and cocaine, a pill press — a device often used to manufacture drugs into pill form — and almost $2,000.00 with intent to forfeit.
COMET was assisted by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force.
The narcotics investigation is continuing, authorities said in the release. Investigators did not reveal the suspect’s name or charges they face.
COMET is an undercover drug task force made up of officers from Chesterfield Township, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Roseville, St. Clair Shores, Shelby Township, and federal agencies.
The investigation was supported by Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG) awarded by the U.S. Justice Department and administered by Michigan State Police.
