Macomb’s Career Services department has unveiled an exciting new initiative aimed at bridging the gap between students and the professional world.

Macomb’s Job Shadow program offers business majors a unique opportunity to connect with employers for a day of immersive learning. Students spend between four to eight hours shadowing a professional in their field of interest.

“The program gives students a day in the life perspective, which helps them gain insights into their potential career paths,” said Macomb Career Coordinator Marion Benoit.

Macomb’s Career Services department coordinates the job shadow experience, ensuring a seamless connection between students and employers. The exact date and time of the shadow will be determined by the employer, student and the Career Services department.

For employers, the program is beneficial because it provides an opportunity to identify and nurture potential future employees. Participating in job shadow programs also enhances a company’s reputation as a supportive and community-focused organization. In addition, students bring fresh insights and ideas.

Interested employers in sponsoring a student for a job shadow experience at their organization should call Career Services at 586-445-7321.
