Cedar House Life Change Center, based in Bloomington, recently received two contributions, from San Bernardino County and from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.
A $350,000 contribution from San Bernardino County and 2nd District County Supervisor Jesse Armendarez will support the nonprofit substance abuse treatment organization’s expansion project, according to a news release from Cedar House.
With this funding, Cedar House will move forward with plans for a new building on the current site, which will house an additional 70 residential beds, office space, clinical group rooms, visitation rooms and more, freeing up space in the current facility to expand outpatient services as well, according to the news release.
“We are so grateful to Supervisor Armendarez and San Bernardino County for this generous funding. We appreciate the county’s ongoing support and confidence in the Cedar House mission,” Jamie Lamb, chief executive officer of Cedar House, said in the news release.
“Our community thrives when we come together to support our most vulnerable,” Armendarez said in the news release. “This expansion is a critical step toward providing more resources for those battling addiction and mental health challenges. I’m proud to support Cedar House’s mission and the incredible work they’re doing to save lives and give people hope for a better future.”
Cedar House has also received a $65,000 grant from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians to support the organization’s outreach efforts for overdose prevention.
With this grant, Cedar House has created a program to educate and inform the community about the dangers of substance use, the methods for administering naloxone to prevent overdose deaths and the benefits of addiction treatment as well as medication-assisted treatment for those in need.
