


Redlands’ LifeHouse Theater is presenting its musical adaptation of “The Count of Monte Cristo,” running weekends through March 30.
In the play, based on Alexandre Dumas’ novel “The Count of Monte Cristo,” Edmond Dantès’ future seems bright, but he is betrayed by those he trusted. Wrongfully imprisoned, he must escape and forge a new identity as the Count of Monte Cristo.
LifeHouse Theater first staged this musical adaptation in 2011.
Sarah E. Pearce is directing this year’s production, with Virginia Watterson as assistant director, Jennifer M. DeWitt as choreographer, Nick Diliberto as music director, Melanie Pinkus as costume designer and Jacob Michel as set designer, according to a news release.
In the cast are Jordan Crother playing Edmond Dantès, Aaron Yañez as Fernand Mondego, Sierra Pohjola as Mercedes, Luke Michel as Danglars, Steven Avelino as Jacopo, Duane Crother as Abbe Faria and Garrett Goodell as Gerard de Villefort.
Others in the cast are Nick Diliberto, Rebekah Guill, Burrell Handy, Micah Derry, Nina Jackson, Levi Michel and Jim Parks.
The play opened Saturday. Performances are 7 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. There is also one Thursday performance, at 7 p.m. March 27.

LifeHouse Theater is at 1135 N. Church St., Redlands, and free parking is available behind the theater.
