Registration is still open for the second session of the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley’s annual Critter Camp, a hands-on camp for students entering the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades.

The first session was held June 16-20, and the second is scheduled July 7-11, at the Humane Society’s facility at 374 W. Orange Show Road, San Bernardino. The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.

During the camp, participants interact with live animals, learn about how the animals live and learn about treating animals with kindness, according to a news release. Campers meet a variety of creatures from reptiles and bugs to horses, dogs and birds.

The camp also includes crafts and games. A new feature this year is a weeklong animal art project to take home.

Registration is $60, and limited partial financial assistance is available, according to the news release.

To register, go to hssbv.org/Upcoming-Events; call 909-386-1400, ext. 218; or stop by the Humane Society, 374 W. Orange Show Road, San Bernardino. Registration is requested by June 30.
