Cal State San Bernardino, in a partnership with the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra Association, offers a Summer Youth Music Camp for middle school and high school students July 13-17 on the Cal State campus.

The camp includes rehearsals, coaching, sectionals and masterclasses, led by professional musicians from Cal State and the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra.

Th program is open to woodwind, brass, percussion, keyboard and string students who are 12 to 18 years old by July 13 or who have just finished high school, according to a news release. Students must have at least two years of playing experience.

The focus of the camp is symphonic orchestra and chamber music performance. All qualified registrants will be accepted, but to be considered for camp orchestra and chamber group placement, students are asked to submit a YouTube link of themselves playing one piece, or an excerpt of a piece (solo, chamber or orchestral), that best represents their current playing level, according to the news release.

Music camp sessions are noon-5 p.m. July 13, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 14 and 15 and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 16 and 17. There will be a chamber concert July 16 and orchestra concert July 17.

Registration includes tuition, lunch Sunday through Thursday, dinner on Sunday and Thursday and a camp T-shirt. Fee is $200 plus the Purple Pass processing fee.

Registration forms are at csusb.edu/music/summer-programs, and registration deadline, including payment and YouTube submission, is July 1.
