1. LA MIRADA (9-3)
The Matadores played their home opener on their new softball field, which is named after alum Jenny Finch, last week and defeated Fullerton 4-0. Sophomore pitcher Alison Ortega pitched a complete game and allowed one hit with two strikeouts.

2. SONORA (10-1)
Aliana Pacheco, Brooke Piwowar, Savannah Saiza and Briaunna Beltran each have two home runs for the Raiders, who are batting .357 as a team. They face Sunny Hills in a Freeway League opener Tuesday.

3. WHITTIER CHRISTIAN (11-4)
The Heralds are on a roll. They won the Silver Bracket of the Dave Kops Tournament of Champions in Arizona and pushed their winning streak to six games with a 3-2 victory over Hemet on Saturday. Sophomore Mia Camacho has three home runs and 18 RBIs.

4. LA SERNA (3-1)
The Lancers haven’t played a game in March but that will change this week. They have Del Rio League games against El Rancho, Whittier and a big one at California on Thursday.

5. SOUTH HILLS (7-4-1)
The Huskies went 3-2 in the Dave Kops Tournament of Champions in Arizona earlier this month, but did not play a game last week due to the rain. They won’t play again until a home game against Citrus Valley on March 26.

6. GANESHA (7-4-1)
The Giants have played a tough nonleague schedule. They are expected to roll through the Miramonte League. They have games this week against Pomona, La Puente and Edgewood.

7. BONITA (7-4)
The Bearcats haven’t played since the Dave Kops Tournament of Champions in Arizona. They should be rested when they take on Ayala in a big Hacienda League game Tuesday. The Bearcats are league favorites along with Ayala and Glendora.

8. CHARTER OAK (2-0)
Sophomore pitcher Leila Diebert threw a shutout with 10 strikeouts in a 4-0 victory over Lakewood. It was just the second game of the season for the Chargers, who have a new coach, Abriana B. Gilchrist.

9. LOS ALTOS (5-1)
The Conquerors started 5-0 before losing to Carson on Saturday in their second game of the day. Freshman pitcher Kaylahni Duenas is one to keep an eye on.

10. CALIFORNIA (4-5)
The Condors beat Sunny Hills 5-2 and hope to continue their winning ways with Del Rio League games starting this week. They play El Rancho on Tuesday followed by a big one against La Serna at home on Thursday.
