Municipal court judge candidate was unfairly attacked
Letter to the Editor
To the Editor:
Recently, Bob Campbell, the independent candidate for Medina Municipal Court Judge, has been the victim of negative campaign attacks implying that he was suspended from the practice of law because of unethical behavior. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Attorneys are required to attend 24 hours of continuing education every two years. If those hours aren’t completed in the two-year period, sanctions can be imposed even if the hours are completed shortly after the deadline. That is what occurred in Campbell’s case. Campbell has never been disciplined for any unethical behavior. The writer of the letter attacking Campbell knew that when he wrote the letter because the information is public, yet he purposely created a false impression. This is the politics as usual Campbell is fighting against.

Martindale-Hubbell, an attorney rating service established in 1868 that bases its ratings on reviews of peers in the legal community, in 2017 noted Campbell as peer rated for strong ethical standards. Avvo.com, another attorney rating service, rates Campbell higher than either of his political establishment opponents.

The political establishment is afraid of Campbell. The establishment knows he is the most qualified candidate for this position and they will stop and nothing to prevent an independent candidate from being successful. I hope the voters will reject the dirty politics as usual and elect Campbell, who is clearly the most experienced and qualified candidate, and not another politician.
