Medina Township Police
April 7 – Police were called to a Medina Road business in reference to a male after a male was reportedly asking for money from all of the business’ employees. Upon arrival, an officer reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from the male. While talking with employees, they reported to the officer they observed him take a handful of pills from a medication bottle. The male was transported to the hospital, where hospital staff confirmed the male was released from the hospital earlier with 30 pills and at that time only had six left.
Montville Township Police
April 7 – A tree was down on the roadway on Timber Trail. The streets department was notified.
April 7 – Police assisted a Sharon Copley Road resident with a broken mailbox.
April 7 – A vehicle struck a plow truck in the parking lot of a Medina Road business.
April 7 – A driver hit a mailbox on Wedgewood Road as well as an Ohio Edison utility pole. The mailbox was destroyed, however the pole suffered no visible damage. The driver was cited for failure to control.
April 6 – Someone complained about an abandoned vehicle on Normandy Park Drive. The owner is deceased. Management from nearby apartments will contact the family about the vehicle.
April 5 – A woman who just moved into a Normandy Park apartment thought someone might be inside her apartment. The apartment was cleared and everything checked OK.
April 5 – A Shaker Heights Middle School bus broke down at Waite Elementary School. Police arrived and buses followed them to Interstate 71 north.
April 5 – Someone reported two teenagers were sitting on a railroad trestle on River Styx Road with their legs dangling. Police checked the area east and west of River Styx and walked the tracks, but could not locate the teenagers.
April 5 – A female reported a male in a Jeep SUV was following her and allegedly followed her into the parking lot of Montville Township Police. The jeep left before police arrived.
Medina County Sheriff
April 7 — A vehicle was found in a ditch at the intersection of Medina and Boneta roads in Granger Township at 12:51 a.m. The driver, April Davis, 50, of Kent, was arrested for OVI and cited for reasonable control.
Medina Township Police
April 10 – Police responded to a Remsen Road address at 12:15 p.m. in reference to a neighbor dispute over land use. One party showed proof of easement rights and requested a police report for documentation. The neighbor was reportedly upset after receiving a letter from an attorney regarding the complainant being on his land.
April 6 – An officer was conducting a welfare check at a Kelly Lane residence at 3:43 a.m. after a neighbor reported banging on an adjoining wall. The officer arrived on scene and could hear a female yelling for help from the inside. The officer was unable to find a way inside and proceeded to kick in the front door. A female resident with medical problems was found to have fallen. Paramedics were dispatched.
April 2 – Police were called to the area of Pearl Road at 2:24 a.m. after a male reportedly jumped out of his wife’s car and ran into the woods. The male had reportedly just been released from incarceration after being arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired. While the officer attempted to search for the male, the male’s daughter made contact with her father, who said he had gotten a ride from from a stranger.
Medina Police
April 16 – Police responded to a death at a Weymouth Road address at 11:06 p.m. Natural causes were suspected.
April 16 – Police responded to a West Liberty Street address at 9:59 p.m. after a female received a letter from an unknown sender threatening her dogs. The female asked for an extra patrol.
April 16 – Police responded to a Frederick Street address on a drug complaint at 8:38 p.m. Two needles and a tourniquet were reportedly located and confiscated by police. An investigation continues.
April 16 – Police responded to a disabled vehicle on Miner Drive at 6:42 p.m. During the investigation, Mason A. Chalmers, 29, of Akron, was arrested on a warrant and driving under suspension.
April 16 – An officer was flagged down on East Homestead Street in reference to some subjects possibly smoking marijuana in Memorial Park at 5:49 p.m. An officer checked the park and didn’t find anything suspicious.
April 16 – Police were called to a Sturbridge Drive residence after a juvenile reportedly caused damage to his mother’s vehicle with a stick and backpack. The mother was advised of possible unruly juvenile charges.
April 16 – Police responded to a traffic accident on East Reagan Parkway at 2:45 p.m. Mariah N. Hargett, 19, of Wadsworth, was arrested for OVI, possession of marijuana and failure to control.
April 16 – Police responded to a disturbance at a Lafayette Road address at 10:33 a.m. Two teens were charged with disorderly conduct. One of the teens was additionally charged with possession of marijuana.
April 15 – Officers responded to a North Court Street business on a report of a possibly missing child at 11:01 p.m. Officers discovered that the child was at home alone. A 48-year-old Howard Street woman was arrested for child endangering and OVI.
April 15 – A juvenile motorist was stopped for having no rear license plate light while traveling on South Court Street at 9:40 p.m. The juvenile was cited for possession of both tobacco and marijuana.
April 15 – Police were called to a large fight outside of a West Union Street residence at 6:53 p.m. The parties had dispersed prior to police arrival.
April 15 – A “nosy” Nottingham Drive neighbor was advised by police to leave a complainant alone at 1:55 p.m.
April 15 – A Sturbridge Drive residence and a parked vehicle were reportedly vandalized with toilet paper and eggs overnight. A report was taken.
April 14 – An officer conducting a welfare check at a South Court Street residence cited Jessica M. Ross, 25, of Brunswick, for open container at 3:30 p.m. She was transported to a friend’s apartment.
April 14 – Police arrested Nicholas J. Donofrio, 23, of Abbeyville Road, for allegedly stealing about $2,000 worth of vehicle batteries from a West Liberty Street business. The offense is a felony.
Wadsworth Police Department
April 10 – Police officers took a report about a theft that occurred in the 100 block of North Pardee Street. The incident is under investigation.
April 10 – A resident from the 100 block of Southpark Drive reported an incident of identity theft.
April 10 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of West Bergey Street and Main Street shortly after 1 a.m. for an equipment violation. The driver, identified as Todd Vanderpool, 50, of Orrville, was allegedly in possession of marijuana. He was issued a minor misdemeanor citation for marijuana possession and was released.
April 9 – Police officers took a report about a burglary that occurred in the 100 block of Cherry Hill Drive. The incident is being investigated.
April 8 – A resident from the 100 block of Euclid Avenue reported the theft of multiple items from his residence. The victim said he believes his roommates took the property while he was in jail. The theft is under investigation.
April 8 – A resident from the 600 block of Trease Road reported she is being harassed via telephone. The case is under investigation.
