Steven G. Belovich, Ph.D., 57, of Hinckley, passed away Aug. 12, 2017, at his home. He was born May 26, 1960 in Cleveland to Thomas S. and Helen (Spisak) Belovich Sr.
Steven was an entrepreneur and founder of a software engineering company. He was an expert in cyber security software, holding numerous patents. Steven was a former professor of electrical engineering at Cleveland State University and co-founder of their computer and software engineering programs. He enjoyed carpentry but will be remembered most for his love of music. He was an accomplished violinist and loved to entertain his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Joanne (Savinell) Belovich, Ph.D.; sisters, Anne Jex (Dennis), Stephanie J. Belovich, Ph.D.; brother, Vincent M. (Janet) Belovich, Ph.D.; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Blech (Richard), Karen S. Pfeiffer (Robert); brothers-in-law, Robert F. Savinell (Coletta), Ph.D. and James J. Savinell (Kathy); nieces and nephews, Lawrence, Melanie, Xavier, Emily, Michael, Teresa, Robert, Mark, James, Ellen, Richard, Patrick, Lauren, Carl and David; and numerous grand-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas S. Belovich Sr.; brother, Thomas S. Belovich Jr.; and mother- and father-in-law, Robert D. and Lotte R. Savinell.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or the Environmental Defense Fund.
