ORLANDO – A Brunswick man made national news this past week after he was arrested for allegedly cursing and plowing through crowds with a stroller at a Disney World resort.
Orange County Police said that over the course of four hours May 14, employees at Disney’s Art of Animation resort received nearly a dozen complaints about Brian Keith Olmstead, 35, of Brunswick, who witnesses claim was on a drunken tirade.
During that time period, witnesses told police that Olmstead had been at the pool bar with his young child when he allegedly consumed alcoholic beverages to the point of intoxication.
Several of those individuals reported Olmstead used racial slurs and threatened them with violence.
At one point, police said, a staff member escorted Olmstead back to his hotel room, but he returned and then refused to leave the food court.
Orange County Police said that when they arrived at the scene, they found the man’s young son to be badly sunburned on his legs and feet and allegedly he had been sitting in a dirty diaper for hours.
Paramedics told deputies they believe the 7-month-old child sustained first-degree burns as a result of the incident.
Officers arrested Olmstead and transported him to jail.
According to police reports, while in the patrol car, Olmsted reportedly threatened police and said President Trump would kill the officer driving the vehicle.
He was charged with disturbing the peace and child neglect for the incident and was released from jail May 15 after posting the $2,200 bond.
According to court records, Olmstead has been arrested on DUI, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in Ohio as well.
