STRONGSVILLE – At least 22 people were killed in a terrorist bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England on May 23.

2003 Strongsville High School alumni Brian and Scott Nicholson, both 32 years old, were on tour with Grande when the explosion occurred. The twins, who studied dance and business at the University of Akron, are backup dancers and choreographers for Grande.

Katie Ferrell, a news anchor with NBC4 in Columbus, attended Strongsville High School with the Nicholson brothers. She spoke with the twins’ sister, who said her brothers performed at the concert and are safe, but shaken.

Their sister, Katie, posted about her brothers.

“Oh this world,” she wrote. “Thank the lord my brothers and the rest of the tour family are okay.”

In a post on her Facebook page, their mother, Ellen Nicholson responded to a post from a friend asking about her sons.

“Yes they are with her and they are safe but such a devastating event horrible,” she wrote.

Brian and Scott were evacuated with the dancers and crew and were able to call family to let them know they were OK while they were leaving.

Grande reacted on Twitter by posting “broken, from the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”

As of The Post Newspapers print deadline, neither of the brothers posted what they saw or what they’re doing at the time of the blasts.
