Wadsworth man gets 5 years for child porn
Michael Eddy previously convicted twice on similar counts
MEDINA – A Wadsworth man received five years in prison Aug. 14 after pleading guilty to several sex-counts involving child pornography.

Michael Eddy, 45, of Silvercrest Drive, pleaded guilty to two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, both of which are third-degree felonies, and two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, both of which are fourth-degree felonies.

These charges were one degree higher than normal due to being previously convicted of the same counts. He also was labeled a Tier II Sex Offender.

The incidents reportedly occurred Feb. 20 and 21.

Court records show Eddy pleaded guilty in July 2016 to one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, a fourth-degree felony, and importuning, a fourth-degree felony. He was sentenced to 15 months in prison, but received credit for 244 days he spent in jail while the case was pending.

Eddy was released from prison in late October 2016 and was on parole at the time of the incidents, according to state prison records.

In 2005, Eddy was convicted of one count of importuning, a fourth-degree felony, and received a 15-month sentence.

As part of his conviction, numerous electronics were forfeited to authorities, including laptop computers, routers and a DVD player.
