
Vincent W. Rohe, 95, of Medina went to his eternal rest on Nov. 26, 2016 at Medina Hospital surrounded by family. Vince was born Sept. 28, 1921 to Vincent and Elizabeth (Lindhorst) Rohe in Cincinnati, attended Western Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati.
He married Mary Geraldine (Connie) O’Connell, also of Cincinnati, in 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII where he served as a patrol bomber (PB4Y/B-24) pilot in the Pacific. After the war, Vince went to work as an accountant. He and his wife raised six children in the Dayton area, and then later moved to Brecksville. A few years following his Connie’s death in 1991, Vince would later marry Viola Gearhart where they spent their retired life in Whispering Pines, N.C. She survives. Other survivors include his six children, Susan Rohe-Brooks, Linda (Kevin) Pelaez, Steven (Susan) Rohe, Diane (Dennis) Fisher, David (Catherine) Rohe and Jeffrey (Christine) Rohe; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; parents; and brother, Earl “Butch” Rohe.
Vince was a devout Catholic and member of St. Basils Catholic Church in Brecksville and attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Medina. He will be deeply missed as the patriarch of the family.
The family requests charitable donations be sent to a charity of choice in lieu of flowers. Waite and Son Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
