To the Editor:
I remember the shocking statement made by New York Representative Charles Rangel: “Our mission is so important, if we have to lie to get it done, it is OK.” This seems to bethe mission of the anti-energy people in stainable Medina.

The closer we get to Nexus confirmation, the bigger the lies. Panic stricken anti-Nexus people are beyond outlandish with the lies. I was shocked that a perceived educated Reverend Doctor Kiesel was so uninformed, or believing like Charlie Rangel, that big lies to promote her agenda was OK.

Lie No. 1: The oil and gas industry is exempt from safety rules. Horsepucky. Ohio has one of the most stringent safety laws.

Lie No. 2: Eminent domain strips rights to clean air and water. Horsepucky. All businesses must meet strict air and water regulations.

Lie No. 3: Fracking infrastructure is placed in poor neighborhoods. Really outlandish Horsepucky. There is no such thing as “fracking infrastructure.” Fracking is the process to open up gas and oil zones deep down (below water tables) inside gas and oil wells to allow the oil and gas to flow up and out of the well. An aside is, in well over 60 years of using a fracking process there is zero water contamination.

Lie No. 4: The longer she goes on, the bigger the lies. The compressor stations will pollute the air, water and soil with tons of toxins. Gee, Nexus compressor stations far exceed EPA regulations. Feds allow 25 parts per million. Nexus compressors emit only about nine parts per million pulse dramatically reduce CO2 with oxidation catalyst equipment.

Lie No. 5,6 and 7: Fracked shale gas causes nose bleeds, heat attacks, birth defects and Autism. Big Horsepucky. There is no such thing as “fracked gas.” Fracking is opening a channel to allow gas to flow. Gas is gas; energy used to create heat. Nothing more.

Lie No. 8, 9, 10 and 11: The Nexus pipeline is dangerous, there is no maintenance and it will leak. Horsepucky. The facts are pipelines are the safest method of distribution on the planet. A map of pipelines all over Medina would look like a screen door with well over 2.5 million miles of pipelines.

The gas transmission serious incident per 1,000-mile rate has declined since 2005 with a sharp decline after 2010. The overall decrease in the rate since 2005 is 41 percent. Visit https://hip.phmsa.dot.gov/analyticsSOAP/saw.dll?Portalpages.

The Nexus pipeline is a bonanza for Ohio, Medina County and our schools. Nexus will deliver about $412 million in tax revenue for Ohio and $125 Million to schools. Plus, it will create about 6,800 new jobs.

Big lies do not make a belief correct. Nexus will be great for Medina.
