Phyllis June Eaton, 77, of Wadsworth passed away April 6, 2017.
She was born Sept. 20, 1939 in Barberton to the late Lamar and Alda Nipper.
Mrs. Eaton was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Wadsworth and Mount Olivet United Church of Christ in North Lima.
She was a graduate of Wadsworth High School Class of 1957 and received her Bachelor’s in Education from Bowling Green State University in 1961. She was a former employee of East Ohio Gas Company in Canton and Youngstown, Dutch Haus Restaurant in Columbiana, Sam’s Club in Youngstown and Walmart in Wadsworth.
Phyllis played the piano, loved Scrabble, Words with Friends and all word games. She was a member of both the church choir and bell choir, and enjoyed sewing and making doll clothes for The Giving Doll organization. She was active with the Brownies, Girl Scouts and 4H and was a Cub Scout leader for the Boy Scouts.
Phyllis is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lisa Eaton of Brighton, MI; Jeffrey and Rebecca Eaton of Canfield; grandchildren Emily and Ryan Eaton of Brighton, MI and Jacob Eaton of Canfield; and her brother Roger Nipper and his wife Lorraine Thrush of Dunedin, FL.
A memorial service will take place at Trinity United Church of Christ, 215 High Street, Wadsworth May 6 at 2 p.m.
