Sonoma County’s hot streak continues, as a winning Scratchers ticket sold this month at a Rohnert Park liquor store made one lucky player $1 million richer, according to the California Lottery.

It’s the fourth California Lottery ticket worth $1 million or more purchased in the county in as many months.

The ticket, a $100 Million Mega Cash Scratchers game, was sold at MD Liquor & Food at University Square, 1451 Southwest Blvd. No. 125, California Lottery spokesperson Daniel Kelly said.

Guadalupe Guerro claimed the $1 million prize, the highest payout for the game, according to the lottery. The odds of winning the $1 million prize is 1 in 2,049,669.

Guerro was returning home from visiting his mother in Santa Rosa when he decided to stop into the store to buy some Scratchers tickets, the lottery said. He bought two of the $10 tickets, instead of his usual $5 tickets, one of which proved to be the big winner.

“At first, I thought I had won $1,000,” he told the California Lottery. “Then my kid pointed out, ‘No, that’s not a thousand, that’s a million!’”

In the $100 Million Mega Cash game, players try to match their numbers to winning numbers, with chances to multiply their winnings by uncovering 10x, 20x or “Win” symbols.
