Warrant and Drug Arrest: On Dec. 5 at around 7:15 p.m., an officer working patrol stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation on the intersection of N. East Street and Commerce Avenue. The driver, 36-year-old Woodland resident Humberto Tejada, Jr., was arrested for a felony warrant. K9 Loki arrived and was alerted to the presence of a target odor inside the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and located methamphetamine and paraphernalia. The passenger in the vehicle, 24-year-old Woodland resident Suzie Smith, was arrested and released with a notice to appear for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Tejada, Jr. was transported to the Yolo County Jail.

Carjacking Arrest: On Dec. 8 at around 1:58 p.m., a citizen reported their vehicle taken by force from a parking lot located on the 1200 block of Cottonwood Street. The suspect, 50-year-old West Sacramento resident Raymond Aragon knocked the citizen down using the vehicle before driving away. While responding to the call, the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to a collision between a vehicle and a power pole in unincorporated Woodland.

It was later determined this was the involved vehicle from the carjacking. Officers between all agencies collaborated and learned Aragon hailed a passing motorist and later jumped out of their vehicle near the intersection of Ashley Avenue and West Gibson Road. Aragon ran into a nearby neighborhood before being apprehended by officers. Aragon was arrested and booked at the Yolo County Jail for carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle), kidnapping, and elder abuse.

Stolen Property Arrest: On Dec. 10 at around 8:13 p.m., a loss prevention associate reported a male stealing merchandise in the store located on the 2100 block of Bronze Star Drive. Officers contacted 23-year-old Woodland resident Augustine Beresford. Beresford was on Parole out of Sacramento County. As a result of the investigation, Beresford was arrested and booked at the Yolo County Jail for a parole violation, theft, and being in possession of a stolen e-scooter.

HOST made 38 contacts and offered services to 20 individuals; four accepted services.

HOST tagged 19 camps and cleaned up nine. HOST conducted nine downtown patrols.

A member of the community who was frequently contacted by HOST reached out to one of the officers. In summary, the community member thanked HOST for the service they provided for her, and she affirmed she would not be going back to that particular lifestyle. HOST assisted in providing her hope and support when she was not getting it from another source.
