


LANCASTER — An armed burglary suspect holed up Sunday inside a residence in Lancaster has been taken into custody, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department did not disclose an approximate time of when the suspect was taken into custody.
The situation was reported about 8 a.m. Sunday in the 43900 block of Kirkland Avenue, near Joshua Elementary School, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Surrounding homes were evacuated.
“The area was deemed safe and all neighborhood evacuees were allowed to return to their homes,” sheriff’s officials said. “There is no additional information available at this time.”
