Joshua Sroge maintains a lead against his opponent Josh Cooperman in the race for the Louisville City Council Ward 1 seat as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Sroge leads the Louisville City Council race with 50.7% of the vote, according to unofficial Boulder County election results Wednesday afternoon. Cooperman had 49.3% of the vote. Cooperman and Sroge are running for the one available Ward 1 seat, and will only serve a one-year term.

Cooperman previously ran for the Ward 1 seat in January but lost to Councilmember Tim Bierman. Bierman did not run for the Ward 1 seat for the Tuesday election.

Cooperman also previously ran for mayor in 2023, but lost to Mayor Chris Leh.

His main priorities include economic vitality, public safety and attainable housing. He wants to preserve town character and encourage business development.

Sroge is a small business owner and chief financial officer with 35 years of finance and accounting experience at local startups and large companies.

During the Feb. 6 council meeting where Bierman was appointed to council, many residents spoke in favor of Cooperman during public comment.
