Landing fees

Don’t be fooled by landing fees at our airport. It’s being promoted by the same small group who hate the airport. They want to punish our pilots.

Not the citizens’ job

It’s nice to see other people living in Longmont think our streets are absolutely disgusting. It’s not up to the citizens to report the bad spots that need repair. The street department has historically taken care of identifying and maintaining them with tax funds we provide. I used the city reporting system a couple of times then decided I’d be overwhelmed trying to report it all. Maybe stop giving more money away to RTD buses that very few people ride.

Read Rochat

Want a bit of sunshine in this dreary world? Read Rochat’s Monday morning column. He always brings a smile. He’s always positive, and I love his column, particularly Monday’s column on being an artist. I am an artist, and I believe that God put creativity in each and every person, whether it’s baking or gardening or doing hair, whatever. There is creativity in you. You are an artist. He’s an artist in his words. Anyway, remember that art should be a journey, not a destination. It will make you a better person, a happy person. Thank you for Rochat’s column.

New breakfast spot

My spouse and I found a new coffee and breakfast place. It’s only open until 3:30 weekly. It’s called Bake Right, and it has coffee and rolls and pastries and sourdough bread. We bought a loaf of the bread, and it’s very tasty and very dense, moist. I hope it lasts there.

Trump and Iran

I’m calling about an article in today’s TC Line. It’s called “Trump and Iran.” When they said that Trump had bombed Iran and is starting a war with Iran, the United States went in and took out a nuclear site. That was it. They never killed anyone. They went in quickly, took out a nuclear site and got out. You need to stop and see what Iran has done to the United States over the last 40 years, starting with the American hostages being taken back 40-some years ago. Iran is a horrible, horrible country, and you cannot let them have a dictator with nuclear weapons.

Life in the U.S.

Imagine two black vehicles with unidentifiable men pull up on your street and start knocking on doors. Should you assume they are with the government and not, say, Proud Boys attempting to kidnap your neighbor, or the government detaining and deporting your neighbor who has not committed any crime and has followed all the rules and is waiting for their green card? This is life in the United States.
