1. LA SALLE (18-5)
Losses to Bishop Montgomery and Long Beach St. Anthony should drop the Lancers out of Open Division contention after being No. 7 last week in the CIF Southern Section computer rankings. Still, a close 44-41 loss to Bishop Montgomery shows how talented the Lancers are. They are in third place in the tough Del Rey League.

2. FLINTRIDGE PREP (16-1)
The Wolves were No. 23 in last week’s CIF-SS rankings and seem like a virtual lock to make the Division 1 playoffs. They earned a solid nonleague win over Valencia on Saturday and should finish undefeated in the Prep League.

3. BONITA (19-6)
The Bearcats’ 47-34 loss to Claremont left them 6-2 in the Palomares League, a game back in the loss column to the Wolfpack, who are 6-1 in league. The Bearcats are in a good spot to lock up an automatic playoff berth, and they could do it Thursday against Glendora.

8. SANTA FE (20-2)
The Chiefs moved to 5-0 in the Del Rio League with a huge 49-43 victory over La Serna. They also had wins last week against El Rancho and Cal. A win over Whittier on Thursday would clinch at least a share of the league title. Their only losses this season were to Segerstrom and Schurr.

9. DIAMOND RANCH (14-7)
The Panthers are 4-2 in the Mt. Baldy League after a 59-38 loss to league-leading Chino. They will be favored in their final four league games, with only one game — against Ontario — that appears challenging.
