Throughout its history, the University of Colorado football program has had 24 players selected in the first round of the NFL draft.
That number will grow Thursday night when receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter and, likely, quarterback Shedeur Sanders get their names called by commissioner Roger Goodell.
Miami quarterback Cam Ward is widely expected to go No. 1, but Hunter is the odds-on favorite to be the No. 2 pick. If he goes No. 2, Hunter would match Bo Matthews as the highest picks from CU in draft history.
Here’s a list of all Buffs to go in the top 10:
• No. 2 — Bo Matthews, fullback, San Diego
• No. 4 — Byron White, halfback, Pittsburgh
• No. 4 — Michael Westbrook, receiver, Washington
• No. 7 — JV Cain, tight end, St. Louis
• No. 8 — Mark Haynes, cornerback, New York Giants
• No. 10 — Chris Naeole, guard, New Orleans
