A high-end resale store in Birmingham was reportedly hit by two thieves on Saturday, who allegedly stole several thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise.
The reported retail fraud happened at around 12:30 p.m. April 12 at Shop MSXC, a boutique-type retailer which opened earlier this month at 640 N. Old Woodward Ave. The two thieves reportedly shoplifted five pairs of Amiri jeans, sneakers and other items.
Birmingham Police Capt. Ryan Kearney told The Oakland Press that officers checked the area after the incident was reported but so far have no suspects. Approximately 10 items were reported stolen, he said, which were priced at around $7,450 in total.
The store’s owners shared store surveillance footage of the suspects, and Kearney said anyone who recognizes the two suspects is asked to contact Birmingham police detectives at 248-530-1870.
