The Woodland Opera House is thrilled to announce that it raised an incredible $33,283 during the annual Big Day of Giving on May 1. This generous outpouring of support from the community will go directly toward funding the Opera House’s acclaimed theatrical productions and educational programs for children and adults across the region.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed during the Big Day of Giving,” stated Tom Burmester, executive director of the Woodland Opera House. “Every dollar raised helps us continue our mission to bring high-quality, accessible performing arts experiences to the community and inspire the next generation of artists and audiences.”
According to a local press release, donations will support a variety of initiatives, including classes, school field trip performances, equipment and building needs, and the staging of classic and contemporary plays and musicals. As a California State Historic Park and one of the few fully functioning 19th-century opera houses in the country, the Woodland Opera House plays a vital role in preserving cultural heritage while serving as a hub for creative expression.
“We’re honored to be part of a community that values the arts so deeply,” said Burmester. “Whether it’s a child taking the stage for the first time or a family enjoying a night of live theatre, your support makes it all possible.”
The Opera House extends heartfelt thanks to its volunteers, staff, board members, and the many donors who made this year’s Big Day of Giving such a resounding success.
