The Davis Police Department took to Facebook to congratulate two of its officers for completing their Field Training Officer (FTO) program, making them ready to hit the roads on solo patrols.
One of those new law enforcement officers is Vincent Nguyen, who completed his FTO training as of Monday, according to an announcement on Facebook.
“After months of intensive training, dedication, and hands-on experience, Officer Nguyen is now hitting the streets as a solo officer, ready to serve and protect with pride,” the post reads. “We’re proud to welcome him to patrol and look forward to the incredible work he’ll continue to do for the Davis community.”
Officer Briana Scholtens completed her training last week, expanding the Davis Police Department’s capabilities by adding two new solo officers to its ranks. Scholtens’ announcement also included two photos: one of Scholtens standing by a vintage patrol vehicle and one of her grandfather, a retired Sergeant with the Michigan State Police.
“Officer Scholtens chose to mark this moment with a tribute to her roots—reenacting a photo of her grandfather,” the post from the Davis Police Department reads. “Side by side with our department’s vintage patrol car, Officer Scholtens proudly carries on a legacy of service and dedication to public safety. We’re proud to have her as part of the Davis PD family and excited to see the impact she’ll make in our community.”
