We’re finally about to get some fresh data points.

The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine has all but arrived, and the NFL Draft’s top prospects will soon begin trickling into Indianapolis for one of the offseason’s biggest events. Potential draftees will have the chance to meet with teams, speak to reporters and flex their on-field talent at Lucas Oil Stadium.

As an appetizer, however, here’s a look at who some of the latest mock drafts have the Detroit Lions picking. This particular roundup of predictions is the fourth installment of a series we’re doing as we march toward the draft, with the goal of keeping you updated on the latest buzz surrounding the Lions‘ 28th overall pick.

• Dalton Wasserman, Pro Football Focus (Feb. 24): Shemar Stewart, edge, Texas A&M.

• Keith Sanchez, The Draft Network (Feb. 23): Shemar Stewart, edge, Texas A&M.

• Ryan Wilson, CBS Sports (Feb. 23): Jack Sawyer, edge, Ohio State.

• Tom Fornelli , CBS Sports (Feb. 21): Jack Sawyer, edge, Ohio State.

• Gennaro Filice, NFL.com (Feb. 20): Nic Scourton, edge, Texas A&M.

Perceived as the safer of the Texas A&M options, Scourton had 5.0 sacks with the Aggies in 2024 after collecting 10.0 with Purdue the season prior. The sack numbers were cut in half, but he had the same amount of quarterback hurries (28) in each of the two seasons. Scourton’s win rate on pass rushes in 2024 finished at 17.1%, closely behind Sawyer and well ahead of Stewart (12.4%). As pointed out by Filice, Scourton’s power and his ability to play all three downs make him the type of “edge this Lions regime favors.”

• Colton Pouncy, The Athletic (Feb. 20): Donovan Ezeiruaku, edge, Boston College: Marshall’s Mike Green gets a lot of credit for leading the nation in sacks last season (17.0), but it’s not like Ezeiruaku (16½) was too far behind. That gaudy total wasn’t a product of luck, either, as Ezeiruaku was one of just eight players in 2024 to have 60 or more pressures. Ezeiruaku, who led the ACC in sacks and tackles for loss (21), finished his career with a massive game against Pittsburgh, wreaking havoc with 14 pressures, 4½ tackles for loss and 3½ sacks. It was his sixth game of the season with at least five pressures.

• Brianna Dix, Buccaneers.com (Feb. 19): Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia: What a gift this would be.

Walker is projected by some to go as high as the top 10, but Dix has the Georgia star sliding all the way down to No. 28. The Lions had Derrick Barnes in their SAM linebacker role last season — and he very well could be back next season on a new contract — but taking someone of Walker’s caliber would be a no-brainer so late in the first round. Walker had 34 pressures on 195 pass-rush snaps, with his best two games in 2024 coming against Texas in the regular season and the College Football Playoff.
