Newsworthy: Hopkins turned in a fantastic performance in the Mt. SAC Relays by winning the mile invitational with a personal-best time of 4 minutes, 49.49 seconds. South Pasadena’s Abigail Errington was sixth in 4:54.38 and La Cañada’s Maya DeBrouwer 12th in 4:57.73. Hopkins also ran a personal best in the 800 invitational, finishing sixth in 2:11.84. Hopkins has the SGV area’s top marks this season in the 1,600 and 800.
