Courts: Man is sentenced to 26 years to life in girlfriend’s killing
A 64-year-old Long Beach man was sentenced last week to 26 years to life in state prison for beating to death his girlfriend at a home they shared in the Cambodia Town neighborhood of Long Beach in 2019, authorities said.
Soeun Sam was convicted by a Long Beach Superior Court jury of murder in the killing of 37-year-old Sena Khim in the 600 block of East 10th Street on May 7, 2019, according to authorities and court records. He was sentenced Friday.
Khim, a mother of eight, was found by Long Beach police about 7:30 a.m. with signs of blunt-force trauma to her upper body, police said at the time.
Sam was still at the home when police arrived.
