


SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO — Officers shot and killed an armed 60-year-old man Monday in South San Francisco, police said.
Authorities did not identify the man immediately, pending the investigation. Police did not say how many officers fired.
Around 5:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Arroyo Drive for a report of a disturbance involving a man armed with a gun, according to a statement from the South San Francisco Police Department.
After officers arrived, the man began shooting at them and into an occupied home, police said. They added that he had a handgun and fired more than once.
Officers responded by shooting back and fatally wounding the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No officers were injured in the shooting incident, authorities said.
