The Yolo Transportation District, in collaboration with the city of Woodland and the Woodland Chamber of Commerce, invites the community to experience a vision for the future of public transit at a “pop-up” event at the proposed downtown Woodland Transit Center site at Court and Second Street on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

According to a YoloTD flyer, this engaging event will showcase how a transit center could operate at the proposed Second and Court Street location in downtown Woodland. YoloTD aims to improve transit services and gather valuable feedback from community members, business owners and bus riders on the project’s vision and design.

Attendees can explore Yolobus and Bee Line vehicles stationed at the proposed site and view informational displays detailing the project.

Key features of the Downtown Woodland Transit Center project include:

Safer Streets: Curb extensions, pedestrian refuge islands, enhanced lighting, and crossing beacons to improve visibility and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

Improved Connectivity: Rerouting of key routes, including Routes 42A and 42B, to better link downtown Woodland with downtown Davis, Sacramento International Airport, and downtown Sacramento.

Enhanced Transit Accessibility: Bus line adjustments designed to meet the needs of the Downtown Woodland community.

YoloTD staff will be on-site to answer questions, explain project details, and collect community feedback on proposed improvements and routing changes. Please note, during the event, bus stops between Second and Third streets will be temporarily closed for loading and unloading passengers.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see how state-funded improvements can enhance transit in downtown Woodland. The community’s input is invaluable in shaping the future of public transit.
