The next baseball legends have to start somewhere.

It could be at the Riverside Sandlot Softball & Baseball Camp.

The summer tradition returned to Riverside this week.

Kids who love baseball and softball practiced at camps held Tuesday and Thursday at the city’s Hunter Hobby Park.

Youths between 6 and 13 worked with coaches to take swings, make throws and run the bases as they prepared for games scheduled for today.

The city’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, Riverside Community Parks Association and the Riverside Police Foundation presented the event.
