In a game that featured inning run totals of six and five, it was a one-run seventh inning that did the job for Lakeview.
Gavin McKee scored on an error in the top of the seventh inning off the bat of Connor Loridon on Wednesday, April 9, putting the Huskies ahead of the Roseville Panthers, 7-6. A 1-2-3 inning by Vincent Eden in the bottom of the frame secured the win, moving Lakeview to 4-3 on the season.
Roseville scored first on a Bryant Holland-Snowden single in the bottom of the first inning, but the Huskies hung the first crooked number of the game in the third thanks to doubles by McKee and Gino Gisevan. Drayke Patterson then cashed in two more runners to put Lakeview up 6-1.
The Panthers answered immediately by getting their first six hitters to reach in the bottom of the third: Holland-Snowden and Christian Stone both drew bases loaded walks, and Casey Kosin singled to draw the score to 6-4. A fielder’s choice and single after that tied the score at 6-6.
Lakeview starter Brendan Pluszczynski struggled, allowing six runs (three earned) in three innings of work. But Vincent Eden shined in relief, allowing just two base runners in four scoreless innings, during which he struck out three Panthers.
That and more in this prep roundup.
