A 23-year-old man was charged with the murders of his mother, brother and sister who were found stabbed to death at their Baldwin Park home a day after Christmas, authorities said Tuesday.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office also charged Kyle Chester De Los Reyes with the special-circumstance allegation of committing multiple murders and the special allegation that he personally used a deadly or dangerous weapon.

A special-circumstance allegation means a defendant could face life in prison or the death penalty.

“My office will work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served in this devastating act of violence, which has shaken our community and left a family forever changed,” District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement. “Let this be a clear message: Those who commit heinous acts of violence will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

De Los Reyes is accused of stabbing to death 44-year-old Rona Nate, 16-year-old Paul Sebastian Manangan and 8-year-old Mia Chantelle Narvaez in their home in the 4700 block of Bogart Avenue.

The victims were De Los Reyes’ mother and siblings, said Pamela Johnson, a spokeswoman for the DA’s Office.De Los Reyes also lived at the house, according to public records and a detective.

Baldwin Park police went to the cul-de-sac after a neighbor called 911 to report a disturbance that night.

Other neighbors heard screaming.

Arriving officers saw the suspect get in a car, speed out of the driveway and crash into a neighbor’s fence, sheriff’s Lt. Michael Modica said.

De Los Reyes doesn’t have prior convictions in Los Angeles County, according to court records.

As of Tuesday, he was being held without bail at the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles.

A GoFundMe page created by a relative had raised more than $9,000 by Tuesday afternoon.
