


Bottle and can drive
• Woman’s Life Chapter 855 conducts a continuous bottle and can drive with drop off locations in Richmond and Memphis to help those in the community in need. They also offer a pick up service for larger donations. For more information, call 586-318-4053.
Community Clean Up
• The Harrison Township Beautification Commission is hosting community litter clean up event from 9 a.m.-noon April 12. Meet at Mariner’s Plaza parking lot by Ace Hardware at 25990 Crocker, Harrison Township then pick up litter along Metropolitan Parkway and adjacent areas. Instructions, leaders, bags, gloves, litter pickers, refreshments and water will be provided. Volunteer hours honored. Children must be supervised. Meetings
• Hearing Loss Association of America will hold a meeting from 1-3 p.m. March 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper Ave., Clinton Township. Speaker will be Leo Schaefer, from the Lions District which handles the Hearing Aid Program. He will talk about the services for people with hearing loss, along with hearing loss, its effects and causes. Then he will describe the Hearing Aid Program and other services now available from the Lions Club. There will be ample time for questions. • Washington Art Guild meets April 7 at Romeo Community Center, 361 Morton Street. Use the south and west parking lots and enter the building through the south door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and socializing. Business meeting at 7 p.m. Session using a new technique of black gesso on aluminum foil. Canvases, watercolor paper, black gesso, foil, paint rollers, and tablecloths will be provided. Designs will have to dry before enhancing them with additional watercolor or paints. This can be finished at home. Please bring a plastic bag to carry your work. You may also bring gloves, newsprint or some paints/brushes.
