The Woodland Police Department recently arrested a man on multiple gun charges, per a statement on the department’s Facebook page.

On May 6 at around 8:45 p.m., officers were called to the area of Thomas St. and E. Oak Ave. after receiving reports of occupants in a white Mazda brandishing a firearm. Upon arrival, officers spotted the vehicle about a block away and contacted the occupants.

Further investigation revealed that the occupants were indeed connected to the brandishing incident. K9 Loki was called to the scene to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert. A subsequent search uncovered an unregistered and unserialized, loaded firearm as well as a high-capacity magazine.

The driver, 20-year-old Marvin Gomez of Woodland, was taken into custody on multiple gun-related charges and was later booked at the Yolo County Jail.
