Waterford police are looking for two people suspected of painting graffiti behind a car wash recently, and are offering a $250 reward for information that leads to their arrest and prosecution.
Police said the vandalism happened on the night of April 17 on the wall behind Miller’s Auto Wash located at 1107 S. Cass Lake Rd.
It’s the second incident on private property that occurred recently in the same area after dark, police said.
Surveillance footage shows the suspects appeared to head toward Cass Lak Shore Club Apartments after the vandalism, police said.
“We have seen a slight uptick in these types of incidents,” Police Chief Scott Underwood stated in a news release. “Painting graffiti on someone else’s property is not art, it is destruction of property, and against the law. We intend to find and charge those who commit these criminal acts.”
Throughout the spring and summer months, Waterford police officers — both uniformed and those in plain clothes — will concentrate on finding and arresting anyone that destroys property with graffiti, Underwood added. He also urges residents, business owners and visitors to the community to “keep an eye out,” adding “If you see something, say something.”
Anyone with additional information on the case (reference no.25-12399) or any similar incidents is asked to contact Detective Rachel White at 248-618-6122.
