WATSONVILLE >> Whether you are into rides, live entertainment or gorging on different carnival foods, there is something for everyone at the Santa Cruz County Fair, scheduled for Sept. 10-14.

If you are the type that likes to create and want to enter your works into a contest, then you can do that as well.

The Santa Cruz County Fair has released its 2025 Fair Entry Guide where people can get the lowdown on the various contests they can enter. These include livestock, agriculture/horticulture, amateur wine, fine arts, Lego displays, photography, poultry, floriculture, collections, home arts, vegetables, apple pie and even fresh salsa, giant cookie and cupcake contests. All the information on deadlines, specifications, entry fees, receiving dates and more can be found in this guide.

The guide is available at local libraries and feed stores as well as the fairgrounds office at 2601 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For information, call 831-724-5671.

The fair’s theme this year is “Hay Bales, Piggy Tails, and Ewe!” Submitted by Aptos resident Laurie Gillmore, the theme is a reflection of the Pajaro Valley’s rich agricultural heritage, which includes thousands of acres of farmland where tons of crops are planted, harvested and distributed and where many animals call home.

As always, there will be no shortage of things to do at this year’s fair, including a drone show by Skye Dreams, wrestling matches by Pro Wrestling Revolution, a bilingual circus named It’s Showtime Circus, a freestyle motocross show FMX Ramp-Age featuring X Games gold medalist Adam Jones, the escaramuza charra show featuring Lola Montes and music by Outlaw Mariachi, Los Dinos, Beatles tribute band the White Album Ensemble and Taylor Swift tribute act Red. There will also be horse and livestock shows, All-Alaskan racing pigs, magician and hypnotist shows and tons of other things to see and do.
