The Woodland Camera Forum will present a photography program by meteorologist and photographer Mark Finan on Monday evening, July 21, at 7 pm at the community room at the Living Hope Church, 240 N. West St. in Woodland.

The program is open to the public and free.

“From life in front of a camera to enjoyment behind the camera, I began taking photos about 15 years ago and have made a lot of mistakes along the way. I’ll share my mistakes and my successes, knowing that I still have much to learn,” Finan explains his journey into photography. “Weather has always been a large part of my life and a reason to begin photography. I’ll show how I use the weather to capture the images I have been lucky enough to make so far.”

Mark Finan is an Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist who has worked in Sacramento since 1991. He retired from his TV career at KCRA 3 in June of 2024 but continues to deliver daily forecasts on YouTube. Finan covered some of the most eventful weather disasters in our area, including major flooding and wildfires, with in-scene coverage and live reports.

Mark was born in New Hampshire and attended the University of Utah for his studies in meteorology. Before working in Sacramento, he also worked in Portland, Maine, and Rochester, New York. Photography has been a hobby of his since 2010, and he enjoys traveling and photography in his retirement.
