The car veered off the road, crashed into a tree, overturned on an embankment and came to stop on its roof.

An adult male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene; the driver and two additional adult passengers were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. All four people in the car were visiting the United States from Germany, according to CHP Santa Rosa spokesperson Officer David deRutte.
