A wind-felled tree knocked down a PG&E power line and landed on a car in Healdsburg Sunday, May 17.

Around 4:04 a.m., an estimated 400 customers lost power when a power line’s safety settings were triggered, according to PG&E spokesperson Megan McFarland.

PG&E coworkers arrived on scene to find a large fir tree had been knocked down by the wind, taking down an overhead distribution power line before falling on an unoccupied parked car.

The line was automatically turned off and posed no immediate safety risk.

Power for the customers was restored by 5:41 a.m., according to McFarland.

Vegetation management and PG&E crews remained onsite to remove the tree and make repairs to the power line.
