First State Bank promotes three on leadership team

First State Bank, which is headquartered in St. Clair Shores, has promoted three members of their Executive Leadership team. Mike Ohlrich has been named senior vice president, chief lending officer. April Matalavy senior vice president, chief human resources officer (CHRO), and Amy Persyn has been appointed senior vice president, chief marketing officer (CMO). Ohlrich joined First State Bank in 2023 and has 25 years of banking experience in southeast Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Science/bachelor of arts degree in Finance/Economics from Central Michigan University, and a Masters in Business Administration in Finance and Management from Wayne State University.

Matalavy has been an integral part of the bank over the past 22 years. In her new role, she will continue supporting the bank’s strategic focus while maintaining a commitment to developing talent and enhancing employee well-being. Persyn has served as the marketing director of First State Bank since 2018 and has been serving the executive team since 2022. She will continue to focus on the customer experience, from new accounts and product software improving the way customers access their accounts and oversee all marketing efforts.
