Christina Michajlyszyn of West Bloomfield Township, a Chesterfield Township native, was recently named as the new CEO at DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) in Detroit.

Michajlyszyn will assume the role June 1, replacing Patty Jobbitt who is transitioning into retirement on July 1 after 40 years with the rehabilitation hospital, according to a press release.

Michajlyszyn is a board-certified healthcare professional with more than 20 years of experience. She joined the DMC in 2005 as a senior physical therapist, becoming director of Outpatient Therapy Clinics at RIM until 2018. She then left to become a practice manager for an orthopedic clinic in Redondo Beach, California, and returned in 2019. She most recently served as RIM’s Hospital Director of Patient Access and Market Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs.

Michajlyszyn earned undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees in physical therapy from Oakland University. As an undergrad, she was a member of the OU women’s cross-country team. She graduated from Anchor Bay High School, where she once held the school record for the cross-country 5k run. RIM is a 69-bed, academic rehabilitation hospital on the DMC campus in Midtown Detroit.
