If you want a peek into what Thanksgiving looks like at the Bidwill house, it goes a little something like this. I wake up, put on my turkey hat — literally, a turkey hat — and bake spiced pumpkin muffins for breakfast, with the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade and Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show playing in the background. The day continues with more cooking, including of my mom’s famous — well, at least in our family — mashed potatoes, catching up with everyone over a relaxing dinner and curling up to watch “Elf” in the evening. I already can’t wait.
I’d love to know about your Thanksgiving traditions, what your plans are for this year or what you’re thankful for as the holiday approaches.
Please make it a six-word story, a personal short story, with a beginning, middle and end — not six adjectives, not a cliché and not advice. Make us laugh or cry or at the least feel something.
If you want your story to run in the IJ, please:
• Write “Six-word story” in the subject line
• Send one six-word story. Just one
• Include your full name and Marin town in the body of the email, no attachments
