Law enforcement announced the arrest of a suspect in the stabbing incident from Monday, according to a post from the Woodland Police Department.

On Monday, June 16, at about 5 a.m., Woodland Police officers responded to a reported stabbing in the area of West Court Street and California Street. At the time, there was no available suspect information.

It’s unclear how many times the victim was stabbed, and according to reporting from KCRA, the victim was sent to the hospital for treatment. After receiving treatment, the victim is expected to survive.At about 1:30 p.m., officers located the suspect, 49-year-old Thomas Hensley, of Woodland.

“Thanks to the relentless dedication and outstanding investigative work of our detectives, homeless outreach street team and patrol officers, a suspect in an attempted murder case was identified, located and taken into custody within just 8 hours of the incident,” the department’s Facebook post reads.

“Their quick action and commitment to public safety brought swift justice to a dangerous situation and helped protect our community.”

Hensley was arrested and booked at the Yolo County Jail for attempted murder.
