A two-out rally in the bottom of the sixth inning helped the Lake Shore Shorians defeat the Warren Woods Tower Titans, 9-6, to earn a series sweep on Thursday, April 24 in a Macomb Area Conference Gold battle.

Tied at 6-apiece, Shorian Aidan Bennett ripped a single up the middle to score Tommy Ahearn and Jacob Bartolomeo, who had each reached with two outs then advanced with steals. Bennett came around to score on a single by Gavin Snarski.

Lake Shore scored four runs in the first three innings, but the Titans responded by hanging six runs in the fourth inning after their first six batters reached to start the frame. Six of their eight hits in the game came in the inning, and it’s when they scored all of their runs.

Brendan Osantowski opted to swap pitchers during the catastrophic inning, and it worked — in relief, Liam Taylor threw 3.2 innings, allowing no runs on three hits and one walk. The Shorians improved to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in the MAC Gold, while WWT fell to 3-10 overall and 1-5 in the Gold.
