
SAN JOSE — Authorities said 14 people needed treatment or hospitalization Friday night during a performance by The Chainsmokers, an American electronic music duo, in San Jose.
A total of 14 ambulances responded, starting at 8:22 p.m., after officials received reports of multiple people “requiring medical attention” at the concert at Discovery Meadows, San Jose Fire Department posted on social media Saturday morning.
Police said several people were treated at the event and others were hospitalized, reportedly due to alcohol or drug problems that happened at the show, according to ABC 7 News.
The Chainsmokers’ show started at 5 p.m. Authorities said by 10:34 p.m., first responders had finished treating patients and left the scene.
The music duo were in San Jose as part of their ongoing tour. They were scheduled to perform Saturday in Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club.
