Charges are pending against a 39-year-old Pontiac man accused of stabbing a 45-year-old Pontiac man late afternoon Monday.
The victim suffered a “severe stab wound” to his abdomen, has undergone surgery and is expected to survive, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.
A call reporting the stabbing was received by the sheriff’s office at around 5:30 p.m. and deputies were then dispatched to the 200 block of Baldwin Avenue, the sheriff’s office said. They located the victim who was treated at the scene by emergency responders from Star EMS and the Waterford Regional Fire Department, then transported to an area hospital and rushed into surgery, the sheriff’s office said.
After a description of the alleged assailant was provided, deputies located him a few blocks away on Tregent Street and took him into custody without incident, the sheriff’s office said. He’s held in the Oakland County Jail.
The Oakland Press will report further on the incident as more information becomes available.
