1. LA MIRADA (7-1)

The Matadores take a break this week from the Gateway League, where they are 4-0, to play in the Boras Classic tournament. They face Birmingham in a first-round game today at noon at Mater Dei. The Matadores are one of the favorites to win the tournament.

2. ARCADIA (12-0)

The Apaches swept a two-game series against Hoover, which they outscored 51-1 in the two games. They also beat Tesoro 12-6. They are the only undefeated team in the SGV rankings. They have a big game at home against Orange Lutheran tonight at 6.

3. BISHOP AMAT (10-2)

The Lancers stepped away from Del Rey League play and beat Downey 5-3. They finished the week with a 2-1 loss to Cypress that snapped an eight-game win streak. They have gig games in league this week against rival St. Paul today and Friday.

4. SOUTH HILLS (6-3)

The Huskies are starting to find their stride, and pitching, as always, has led them. Joseph Moreno pitched a no-hitter for 6 2/3 innings in a 7-0 win over San Dimas before handing the ball off for the final out because of his pitch count. They’re 2-0 in the Hacienda League.

5. ST. PAUL (10-3)

The Swordsmen served notice in the Del Rey League with a two-game sweep of La Salle. They are 4-2 in league. They play two big league games this week against Bishop Amat.

6. SAN MARINO (10-3)

The Rio Hondo League title chase is going to be fun. After the Titans beat Monrovia 8-1, they were shut out by La Cañada 1-0. Monrovia and San Marino entered the season as the league favorites.

7. MONROVIA (10-3)

The Wildcats were roughed up by San Marino 8-1, but finished the week strongly with three straight wins, beating South Pasadena (7-1), North Hollywood (14-3) and Victor Valley (11-2).

8. SAN DIMAS (6-4)

The Saints were no-hit in a 7-0 loss to South Hills, but prior to that they notched good wins over Los Altos (6-3) and Bonita (5-1). They look like a good bet to finish second in the Hacienda League behind South Hills.

9. LA SALLE (7-4)

The Lancers took a big step back by getting swept by St. Paul 9-4 and 10-0 to fall to 3-2 in the Del Rey League. That makes this week’s two-game series against Paraclete critical if they want to stay close in the league title chase.

10. BONITA (6-4)

The Bearcats return to the SGV rankings after starting 3-0 in the Palomares League. The Bearcats earned a three-game sweep of Diamond Bar to start league play. They have a three-game series against Claremont this week.
