Rocky Mountain National Park’s timed entry system is set to open for summer visit reservations soon.

A timed entry reservation may be necessary depending on what time of the day park visitors plan to arrive and where they plan to visit.

Timed entry reservations will be available on Recreation.gov for the dates of May 23 through June 30, 2025, beginning on May 1 at 8 a.m. Visitors looking to make a reservation will have two options available. First, timed entry, which does not include access to Bear Lake Road, or the timed entry + Bear Lake Road option.

Reservations for visits from June 1 through July 31 will be available starting June 1. Reservations for the month of August open July 1, reservations for the month of September open Aug. 1, and reservations for Oct. 1 through Oct. 19 open Sept. 1.

For entry, visitors will need to make their reservation, have their park pass or entrance fee ready, and they must arrive during their reserved time slot.

Timed entry reservations include most areas of the park but do not include Bear Lake Road Access. Reservations are required for visits between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and re-entry is allowed. Timed entry + Bear Lake Road reservations include the rest of the park and outlying areas, and reservations are required for visits between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The only cost associated with making a timed entry reservation is a non-refundable $2 Recreation.gov processing fee. Neither form of reservation includes guaranteed parking.

Reservations can also be made using the recreation.gov mobile app. For answers to more frequently asked questions, visit the park’s webpage at go.nps.gov/romo/timedentry.
